Today at the feeder

We noticed quite a bit of bird activity this morning. Juncos arrived, followed by a brown creeper. Then all of our friends came to the feeder. The first four photos were taken through the window. Then, Mike, the geek, set up the tripod and the infrared remote for the camera and captured the red-bellied woodpecker (love his hair) and the rest of the gang.

Chickadee with a seed at the feeder

Chickadee

The Blue Jays take a peanut to a tree branch, and spend the next minute pecking it apart and eating it. The Chickadee does the same thinng with a sunflower seed.

Here are some photos of the American Goldfinch, the State Bird of New Jersey. Mike took about 200 Goldfinch pictures while Chris was in the hot tub. Here are the best three pictures of Goldfinches.

Tufted Titmouse

It's a nice bright sunny day today, so we got some clearer pictures. This is our first posting of the Tufted Titmouse. They move so fast it's hard to get them. The others have been up before, the Northern Cardinal and the Nuthatch.
