Early Spring Birds in New Jersey: Robin and Red-winged Blackbird
When we returned from Trinidad and Tobao, it was nice to see the spring birds. Robins had returned in numbers to our yard and Red-winged blackbirds were back too.

Red Winged Blackbird Nest
We're not the greatest fans of the red winged blackbirds, at least Chris isn't, but this morning while out in the boat, we found this nest and we are big fans of baby birds. When we first passed it, we didn't know whose nest it was. On our way back, we saw the female first feeding several times. It was really fun to watch them, and we hung around long enough to see the male come to the nest too.

Birds from Tallman Mountain State Park, Piermont NY
Baltimore Oriole
Carolina Wren
Song Sparrow
Female Red Winged Blackbird
When we stayed in Piermont, NY our B&B was close to the entrance of Tallman Mountain State Park. We took a brief walk and encountered a few birds. There was quite a bit of singing with the wren, the oriole, red-winged blackbirds and song sparrow competing for our attention.
The yellow warbler got our attention by its color not song.

Birdcam photos: Spring birds at the feeder.
We went to Connecticut for Easter but left the birdcam on to see who was at the bird feeder. We had observed the courtship feeding in cardinals, but this is the first time we noticed it in house finches.
